Privacy Policy

Sari is a service for renting homes in Dubai: you find a home, a Sari coordinator shows it to you, and you can sign the tenancy on the spot. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Sari website (sari.rent) and the Sari app, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Sari is operated by INTRUST REAL ESTATE (L.L.C), a real-estate brokerage licensed in Dubai (brokerage licence 31840), which is the controller of your personal data. You can reach us about anything in this policy at ops@sari.rent.
What we collect
- Account details — your mobile number (we sign you in with a one-time code sent by SMS), your name, and, if you give it, your email address and a profile photo.
- Identity documents — when you sign a tenancy, your Emirates ID (or passport) and the details read from it. UAE law requires a tenancy to be registered with Ejari under the tenant's identity, and we cannot prepare the contract without it.
- Location — only while you use the app or site, and only if you allow it: to show homes near you and to work out how far you are from a home before an instant viewing. We keep the result of that check (for example, "about 20 minutes away"), not a history of where you have been.
- Coordinators' location — if you work for Sari as a coordinator, your location while you are on shift and travelling to a viewing, shared with the tenant waiting for you. It stops when the viewing ends.
- Viewings and tenancies — the homes you view, when, the messages you exchange with your coordinator, the contract you sign and its payments.
- Payments — card payments and the 30 AED viewing hold are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we keep a reference to the payment and its status.
- Listings — if you are an owner, the details and photos of your property, your contact details and the bank account rent is paid into.
- Device and usage data — a push-notification token so we can tell you about your viewing, and technical logs and crash reports that help us keep the service working.
Why we use it
- To run the service you ask for: sign you in, arrange and carry out viewings, prepare and register your tenancy, take and refund payments, and keep you informed about each step.
- To keep the service safe: to stop fraud and abuse, and to protect tenants, owners and coordinators.
- To meet our legal obligations as a licensed brokerage, including tenancy registration, anti-money-laundering checks and record keeping.
- To improve Sari: we look at how the service is used, in aggregate, to fix what does not work.
We do not sell your personal data.
Advertising and measurement on the website
The website can use cookies and similar technology from Google (Tag Manager) and Meta to measure how our advertising performs. These run only after you agree in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time from "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the home page. The Sari app contains no advertising or third-party tracking code and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Who we share it with
- The other side of your tenancy — an owner sees the details of the tenant who signs for their home, and a tenant sees the details of the owner on the contract, as a tenancy contract requires.
- Your coordinator — sees your name and phone number for the viewing they are showing you.
- Government bodies — Dubai Land Department / Ejari for tenancy registration, and any authority that is entitled by law to ask.
- Service providers who process data for us under contract: Stripe (payments), Unifonic (SMS codes), Mapbox (maps and driving times), Apple (push notifications), our hosting provider, and — only if you use the AI assistant — the provider of the language model that answers you.
Some of these providers may process data outside the United Arab Emirates. Where they do, we rely on contracts that require them to protect it to the standard UAE law expects.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. Records of signed tenancies, identity checks and payments are kept for as long as the law requires us to keep them, and are then deleted. The result of a location check lives for minutes; a coordinator's route to a viewing is kept only as long as it may be needed to settle a question about that viewing.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can object to how we use it. You can delete your account yourself at any time in the app, under Profile. Deleting your account removes your profile and personal details and signs you out everywhere; records we are legally required to keep (such as a completed tenancy) are kept, separately and only for that purpose. While a tenancy is active, the account cannot be deleted — the contract carries obligations on both sides — so end it first or write to us. To exercise any other right, write to ops@sari.rent.
Security
Your data is encrypted in transit, access to it is limited to the staff who need it for their work, and changes to tenancies, payments and identity checks are recorded in an audit log.
Children
Sari is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app or by message if the change is significant.
